For Trash Talk, we explored how we could combat excessive food waste by visualizing food waste behaviour, grouping it by category, weight and talking about it. The process included throwing waste in a specific bin, where it was being weighed and assigned a specific disk that showed its weight, original purpose and type.

Using data as the primary source for behaviour change was a valuable approach as it was closely related to the user’s actions. The project also gave me opportunities to learn about live data connections, laser cutting and using this approach in user research.
